Welcome to Los Angeles...now where's the sushi?!?

So I got in to LAX around 9:00 pm, and it was after 10 when I rendezvou'd with Tamale and the Loris. (for those who don't know...everyone has a nickname. Explanations later.) It was about 1:30 FL time, but I was craving sushi like no other. We went to this place in Marina called Kanpai. YUM...let the good times roll :)

Hotel Hanstone was fun that night...impromptu acoustic sessions with the Bobstone (like I said...nicknames) himself and the A-team, in town for the "ThuperF*nAwesomeNinjaKickingBirthday" festivities, kept us laughing with songs about Milwaukee, Wisconsin and, upon Nancy's request, one about Florida, which by far was the best.

We spent Saturday on the beach in Playa del Rey celebrating Rob and Thai's birthdays...meeting everyone (my 'inherited' friends haha), playing games, and enjoying the AMAZING weather. Seriously, it was the most beautiful day. Nancy told me that the past couple of days had been overcome by "june gloom," but I guess I'm just lucky like that. We ended up staying there for 6 hours, the longest I've ever stayed on the beach (granted, in Florida you'd die of heat stroke before you made it that long) before we walked over to this place called The Shack, where I was served the best burger I've had in a long while.

After some rest, and I needed it, the whole group (about 30 of us) went to The Brig in Venice to celebrate some more. I met one of Eric's co-workers that is from Naples. Small world!

Sunday was apartment errands day. We visited our new place...which, of course is Awesoommmee. It's in a prime location in Santa Monica, right by Wilshire. We can walk to everything, even the beach! I'm so excited to call our new place home for the Summer. AND our neighbors rock. Let's just say...The Gator Nation IS everywhere!

Nancy quote of the day: "Is it turbular, or nurbular?"
